About
My Personal Investment – my gateway to knowledge of personal wealth and financial freedom.
Hi and welcome to my site. My name is Haavard Aurstad and I’m the founder of My Personal Investment and today I’d like to take you through my journey of money and wealth.
Since my early age I’ve been fascinated by making money on my own. I’ve been dealing in stocks, currencies, money funds and other businesses, educating myself in what I felt was in my best interest.
I’ve always been a hard worker, and learned as a young boy that good work would make good profits. And I got my youngest sister to thank for that one since she was the one most interested in making me work for a small buck!
It wasn’t before age of 15 I got my first impression on stocks. Me and some friends of mine were hanging around as normal when one of them started talking about something called stocks…
It turned out his father at that time was working in some sort of wood production company and he had been buying stocks in a world leading producer of newsprint and magazine paper. Curious as we was we started playing around watching online stock prices fly up and down without knowing much of anything.
Nobody knew what we wanted, but things like this sure made some interesting points specially in my thinking. As time went by we continued playing around getting to know more companies that seemed to do well, and almost everyday found ourself watching some sort of price movements or news related to these companies.
I specially remember this one day I went to one of the local bank’s in town to see if anyone behind the counter knew anything about stocks and maybe would be able to share something with this young fellow. One guy specially seemed to know what he was talking about and he invited me in to have a little chat on different things to expect in different markets at that time.
He’s talking were into Norwegian stocks and news releases, and without a doubt knew for sure what he was talking about. And that’s when my interest in stocks began to grow even more.
School wasn’t my strongest link at this time, in fact I rather wanted to go out to learn the things I wanted to know by watching and applying them in the real world instead of spending years of my time behind a school desk.
So at the age of 18 I decided to quit school and went to work hard and get myself a good paying job at a local carpenter company. My hard work paid off and I managed to build up a good saving for me to invest in different places.
In the meantime I got to established a good friendship with an old friend of my father who was quite successful in his investments. He later became my mentor and a good friend who taught me a whole lot when it came to business and finance.
Our friendship led to several investment opportunities and I got to see returns I’ve never though possible. Not just did we get to earn some great return but all the knowledge and interesting people that came along made this a long lasting experience.
It makes it interesting to see the little things that shape our destiny. Little things that made so huge difference in the long run. I wasn’t more than 19 years old when I got to travel and interact with so many great interesting people from all around the world – and it’s something I’ll continue to do for as long as I wish.
As an old saying, life is too short to live with regrets – so make sure to do the things you’ll cherish forever.
I’m now at the point where I find it interesting sharing my thoughts and progress as I continue on my journey to a wealth life – and therefore I decided to go ahead to create this site to be a place to keep interesting topics available.
I’ll be sharing my experience on whatever related to money and finance generally and maybe even share some of my successful investments as well if you would want to model my thinking.
I believe if we just open our eyes and start to think outside the box for a change, there are much better deals available than what meets the eye.
That said, money isn’t made over night, nor does it grow on threes, unless you tend to build the habit of grabbing good opportunities once they fly by in a lightning speed – then they’ll have the potential to take your finance to the next level as you go along.
Nobody learns to walk in a week, same applies for your finance. Establish your financial goal, start to take small baby steps towards it and learn to master your finance or else the finance will simply master you.
I am not a financial guru in any way, but I have managed to successfully work my way up and through many years of journey kept learning as I moved along, so now is the time for me to enjoy some sharing.
If you decided to hang around that’s awesome – and who knows, maybe we’ll meet up someday when living the life we always dreamed of.
I hope you find your stay pleasant and please make sure to bookmark and check back later.
To a wealthy life,
